Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most commonly asked questions we receive at our shop.

How does the buying process work?

The buying process is extensively covered in the “Custom Table Buying Guide”

Please refer here first for information.

What type of wood do you use for your farmhouse tables?

Our farmhouse table tops are generally made from quarter sawn white oak. The turned legs are made of hard maple in most cases. We can use other types of wood if you have another species in mind.

What type of wood do you use for your live edge tables?

Our top seller and most popular wood species is walnut. That being said we can source hundreds of different species and styles of wood. Don’t hesitate to ask. Chances are we can get what you are looking for.

How do you finish your wood?

We use two different types of finishes depending on the situation. The first option is Rubio Monocoat. Rubio is generally used on our farmhouse tables and is our choice of color stain for wood. For our live edge tables we use Odies Oil. Odies oil is used when we are looking for an oil based finish, standard for live edge furniture. Odies Oil is a natural, zero-voc, and solvent free finish.

How do I receive my table?

If you are local to the Mid Atlantic area we can work out delivery methods or you can pick up your table from our shop.

What if I scratch my table?

We understand life happens. Spills, animals, and children's art day can cause issues with your table’s finish. The good news is the finishes mentioned above are very easy to spot repair. Unlike a typical urethane or lacquer finish which typically requires a complete refinishing the oil finishes that we use as our standard are easy to repair. Contact us for a quick guide on how to repair.

What’s your lead time?

Our lead time is wholly based on time of the year and demand. Lead time can vary from 3 weeks to 6 weeks.

Can I send a photo to you for inspiration?

Of course! If you have a specific table or piece of furniture in mind and want it to be the inspiration for your table we can certainly work with you.

Is the resin food safe?

While the resin used is safe for food to be on, we do not suggest chopping on the board. It is meant as a serving board.
