What do I need to know about live edge furniture?

Live Edge wood are cuts of trees that have the edge of the tree intact. While most tables have squared off edges, a live edge table will exhibit edges that mimic the tree’s shape. There are no changes made to the original shape of the slab. The result is high-end furniture perfect for one of a kind tables.

How do I choose my slab?

We understand that choosing a slab is a daunting task. We will determine what wood species you are most attracted to and work from there. We can send pictures of slabs with dimensions and sample finish pictures until you have found the perfect slab for your home.

Is your live edge furniture dry?

Yes, we only use sustainably sourced, kiln dried slabs for our tables. This ensures the moisture content of the slab is usable for furniture and rids the slab of any insects that may have been living in the tree.

We understand that your taste is different than anyone else’s. We accomplish this fully customized buying process by brainstorming your wants and needs. We ensure your table is exactly what you had in mind.

To jump start your process here are a few things to keep in mind when deciding on your live edge table:

Tabletop

A majority of our tables and the most popular species is american black walnut. That being said we can source any species you’d like including, cherry, maple, oak, claro walnut, and so many more. Chances are, if you’ve heard of it, we can find it.

Dimensions

Dining table slabs are generally 36-44” wide and 5’-10’ long. We are happy to adjust any of these measurements based on your space though.

Base

All of our live edge tables are set on top of metal bases. Bases are primarily made from steel, but we can also use stainless steel, or brass in a variety of bases. Finishes for the bases can be a clear coat, painted, or powdercoated.

Turnaround time

Lead time is wholly dependent on current demand. In most cases, lead time should not extend past a few weeks.
